Awa Odori (Awa Dance Festival) - Event that I want to go

Hello Peeps!

Evur heard a festival named Awa Odori? No not Bon Odori, its Awa Odori. Well, the earliest version of it is from Kamakura era (1185 - 1333), a priestly dances of the Japanese Buddhist's style of hiji-odori and Nembutsu-odori and also kumi-odori. Well, they can last for several days. There are peoples dancing along the streets, colorful costumes. I watched the videos on youtube too and its amazing!






It was established as major events during 17th century but died out during Meiji Period and making its comeback during Showa Period. Tokushima Prefecture is famous for this event. Well, if I have the opportunity to go there, I will!

Shops and houses are built accordingly. Its natural to see this scenario in a busy harbour.
